AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) A drier and more stable weather pattern with sunshine and warmer temperatures for the early part of the new week.

(2) An upper level storm system, currently off the northern coast of the Baja Peninsula over the eastern Pacific Ocean, will begin moving east northeastward by mid week and, as a result, our atmosphere will grow more moist and unstable and clouds will increase Tuesday night through Wednesday. As the initial upper air disturbance moves east northeastward over the southern plains Wednesday into Wednesday night, we’ll see rain chances return to our forecast.

(3) As the earlier disturbance moves over Texas, another strong upper level low over the Pacific Ocean will settle into place over the eastern Pacific Ocean and the southwestern USA and will move east northeastward for the end of the week into the weekend with better rain and perhaps even thunderstorm chances. As this second upper level low pressure storm system moves by, a stronger surface cold front will move through the area during the early/mid morning hours on Friday. Because the front may outpace the upper level low, we may keep rain and thunderstorm chances going on back in the cooler air for most of the day Friday before rain chances decrease and clouds break late Friday night into Saturday.

(4) A drier and more stable weather pattern with temperatures falling back to below season averages is likely for our upcoming weekend.
