SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) In the wake of the arctic cold front yesterday, much colder temperatures will continues as clouds break giving way to sunshine today and tomorrow.

(2) Under a clear sky, expect a hard freeze in most areas away from downtown Austin tonight into early tomorrow (Wednesday).

(3) High pressure moves eastward and southerly winds return by late tomorrow. Clouds and rain chances will increase a bit by tomorrow night into Thursday as another upper air low pressure storm system and cold front passes by the morning hours on Thursday.

(4) A dry and stable fall weather pattern prevails late week with plenty of sunshine expected. By Saturday night into Sunday, low level moisture increases once again with clouds increasing a bit ahead of another weaker cold front.

TONIGHT…. Mostly clear with a freeze area wide. Low 28. Winds north northeasterly 5 to 10 mph becoming light late.

WEDNESDAY…. Mostly sunny and continued unseasonably cold. High 51. Light wind early becoming southerly 5 to 10 mph by midday.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT…. Increasing clouds becoming mostly cloudy with scattered light rain and rain showers developing. Where rainfall occurs, given a 50% chance of rain, it will average 0.05″ or less. Low 38. Light southerly wind.

THURSDAY…. Mostly cloudy with scattered light rain and rain showers as a cold front passes in the morning. Where rainfall occurs, given a 50% chance of rain, it will average 0.10″. High 53. Light east southeasterly wind early shifting northerly 4 to 8 mph.
