WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT TONIGHT…

SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) A strong modified arctic cold front with increased clouds with rain chances expected today into tonight and early tomorrow. Much colder temperatures will follow the front as clouds linger into early Tuesday morning with the possibility of a wintry mix. Clouds will break with much below average temperatures into the middle part of next week.

(2) High pressure moves eastward and southerly winds returning by Wednesday Clouds will increase a bit by Thursday as another upper air low pressure storm system and cold front passes.

(3) A dry and stable fall weather pattern prevails late week with plenty of sunshine expected. By Friday night through the weekend, low level moisture increases once again with clouds increasing a bit.

TODAY /VETERANS DAY/…. Mostly cloudy. Becoming windy and turning much cooler by early afternoon with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with an associated lightning threat as a cold front moves through the area. Where rainfall occurs, given a 50% chance of rain, it will average 0.25″. High 72 with temperatures falling into the 40s and 50s in the afternoon. South southwesterly wind shifting northerly 20 to 30 mph with some gusts to 40 mph.

TONIGHT…. Mostly cloudy, windy and much colder with scattered rain showers until midnight then patches of light rain tapering off after 4am. Light rain could possibly becoming mixed with light sleet or light snow toward daybreak. Where precipitation occurs, given a 50% chance of precipitation before midnight then rain chances decreasing to 20% by daybreak, it will average 0.05″ or less. Wind chills falling into the upper teens and 20s after 10pm. No sleet/snow accumulation.  Low 31. Northerly wind 20 to 30 mph with some gusts to 40 mph.

TUESDAY…. Isolated patches of light rain, sleet and/or light snow before 8am. Where precipitation occurs, given a 20%chance of precipitation before 8am, it will average trace amounts. No sleet/snow accumulation. Decreasing clouds becoming mostly sunny. Unseasonably cold with wind chills in the upper teens and 20s in the morning and remaining in the 20s and 30s for the rest of the day. High 43. Northerly wind 15 to 25 mph and gusty dying down a bit in the afternoon.

TUESDAY NIGHT…. Mostly clear with a freeze area wide. Low 28. Winds north northeasterly 5 to 10 mph becoming light late.

WEDNESDAY…. Mostly sunny and continued unseasonably cold. High 53. Light wind early becoming southerly 5 to 10 mph by midday.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT…. Increasing clouds becoming mostly cloudy. Low 41. Light southerly wind.

THURSDAY…. Mostly cloudy with a few sprinkles as a cold front passes by midday into early afternoon. Where rainfall occurs, given a 20% chance of rain, it will average trace amounts. High 59. Light east southeasterly wind early shifting north northeasterly 5 to 10 mph.

FRIDAY…. Mostly sunny. High 64. North northeasterly wind 4 to 8 mph.
