AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) High pressure is well to the east of the area with a return south southeasterly surface wind in place. Temperatures, with abundant sunshine, will warm to well above seasonal averages into tomorrow.

(2) A cold front, accompanied by some cloudiness but no rainfall, will move through the area tomorrow afternoon with clearing skies and a little cooler temperatures expected in the wake of the front.

(3) A stronger, reinforcing dry cold front will surge through the area on Saturday afternoon with cooler temperatures expected under a mostly clear sky Saturday night into Sunday. Indications are that we’re likely to see lows in the 30s to near 40 again Saturday night as well as Sunday night as high pressure settles southward into the area in the wake of the front.

(4) The cooler surface air mass will modify a bit by late Sunday into Monday and Monday night as surface winds turning more south southeasterly. As a series of upper level low pressure disturbances move through the area, another cold front will surge southward by Tuesday into the middle part of next week. As a result, don’t be surprised to see increased cloud cover by Monday night into Tuesday and Wednesday as this transition occurs. Based on the latest guidance, at this point, I do not have enough confidence to include any rain chances but the rain chances may trend upwards by the end of next week, beyond the seven day forecast period, as colder air moves into Texas.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance, over the next seven days, is forecasting little if any rainfall for the IH35 corridor.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
High to Very High Confidence through Monday..
Medium Confidence Monday Night through Tuesday..
