AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) The stable early fall weather pattern continues in the wake of a weak reinforcing cold front that passed, as predicted, late yesterday afternoon. This will basically keep the dry weather pattern in place through our upcoming weekend.

(2) The surface high pressure area, in the wake of the front late yesterday, will move eastward and we’ll see a return to a southerly surface wind by late today. A warming trend starts tomorrow before yet another dry cold front moves southward through the area by late Sunday into Monday with the air mass being reinforced with a dry weather pattern continuing into the new week.

(3) The NWS/National Hurricane Center (NHC) continues to watch a disturbance over the northwestern Caribbean Sea get better developed. According to NHC meteorologists, there is now 90% chance of development into a tropical cyclone (tropical cyclone Gamma??) over the next 5 days as the system moves slowly west northwestward. Tropical storm watches/warnings are possible later today over parts of the Yucatan Peninsula. Guidance suggests what ever develops will meander into the southern Gulf of Mexico and the Bay of Campeche over the coming days as the system gets shut off from moving north by a front moving south over the Gulf of Mexico.  I’ll continue to keep a close eye on this system.

(4) In addition, another west northwestward moving tropical wave, over the central Caribbean, will be moving west northwestward and has a 30%chance of the next five days of becoming a tropical cyclone. I’m watching this closely as well.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance, for the IH35 corridor over the next seven days, forecasts no precipitation with temperatures near average overall through Thursday.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
