AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) The cold front that passed over the area late Sunday night has returned northward over the area in the last 24 hours with humidity on the increase as evidenced by the low clouds and even some light rain overnight into the morning hours this morning. Overall, very little in the way in a precipitation trigger mechanism is expected with a dry (but increasingly humid) weather pattern continuing at least through the remainder of the week. However, a few sprinkles are once again possible tonight into early tomorrow but rainfall amounts will be minimal.

(2) Our next upper level low pressure disturbance will move over Texas by Saturday night into Sunday as a cold front pushes south southeastward into Texas. The latest guidance now suggests that the front moves across the IH35 corridor in the morning hours on Monday. With increasing atmospheric instability and higher moisture level, I will continue with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms beginning late Sunday into Monday for the IH35 corridor.

(3) Cooler temperatures and lower humidity levels will follow the cold frontal passage early Monday and continue into Monday night and Tuesday as skies partially clear.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance has increased the amounts expected; 0.50 to 1.00 inch of rain is now expected over our area over the next seven day period.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
A high confidence forecast through the 7 day forecast period.
