AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS
WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT TONIGHT…

.. Rain Chances Increase for Weekend with Approaching Tropical System ..

AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) As the atmosphere becomes a little more stable today, rain chances will drop from the forecast.

(2) The tropical cyclone in the Gulf of Mexico is moving west northwestward and will arrive in the northwestern Gulf by tomorrow and then moving ashore of the Texas coast around Port Aransas by midday Saturday. Clouds and better rain chances will result locally with some of that rainfall potentially heavy especially in areas along and south of the IH10 corridor. Temperatures will fall below seasonal averages with the abundant cloud cover and rain chances. All interests along and onshore of the Texas coast should continue to closely monitor the latest information from the National Weather Service, the National Hurricane Center and trusted weather sources over the two days until landfall. Be a good critical thinker.. avoid unknown/untrusted social media sources that display the worse case forecast scenarios in order to get the most social media “clicks.”

(3) Rain chances will slowly diminish by early in middle parts of next week with sunshine once again increasing with temperatures rising once again.
