AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS
WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT TONIGHT…

.. Chances Continuing to Increase for Tropical Cyclone Development Over Gulf ..

AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) A general area of upper level high pressure, acting like a “lid” on our atmosphere, has, as advertised, has weakened and shifted more north of the area. A weak disturbance has moved into  east Texas and with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms expected locally later today into this evening.

(2) As the atmosphere becomes a little more stable tomorrow, rain chances will drop from the forecast.

(3) As advertised, the next west northwestward moving tropical wave is forecast to move through the Gulf of Mexico this week arriving in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico by late Thursday through Friday and then moving ashore of the Texas coast by Friday night into the weekend with better rain chances locally with some of that rainfall potentially heavy. With the now increased NWS/National Hurricane Center chance of tropical cyclone development, all interests along and onshore of the Texas coast should closely monitor the latest information from the National Weather Service, the National Hurricane Center and trusted weather sources over the next few days. Be a good critical thinker.. avoid unknown/untrusted social media sources that display the worse case forecast scenarios in order to get the most social media “clicks.”
