AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) Over the next seven days, a very stable early fall weather pattern holds across south central Texas with a mostly clear sky continuing. Temperatures have fallen back to being closer to normal for this time of year and overnight lows for all of the area fall into the 50s and 60s through the next seven days.

(2) Surface winds slowly return back southeasterly by the weekend into next week with humidity slowly increasing.

(3) Tropical cyclone Ian has moved western Cuba overnight and is emerging over the southeast Gulf of Mexico with signs that it may rapidly intensify today into tomorrow before moving toward the west coast of Florida by Wednesday and Thursday. I am extremely concerned for the potential storm surge, flooding, tornado and high wind impacts of a possible major hurricane over the eastern Gulf of Mexico and the west coast of Florida over the coming days. The system will have little sensible effect on our weather locally.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance continues to show no rainfall over our area for the next seven day forecast period.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
A very high confidence forecast through the 7 day forecast period.
