TK’s Weather Discussion….

Updated 845am CT – Wednesday / 16 April 2014

…. Humidity on the Increase ….
…. A Warming Trend with Clouds Increasing Again Late Week into the Weekend ….

On this Wednesday morning…. surface high pressure /1029mb/ is off to the east and is centered over the Ohio Valley region. Low pressure /1000mb/ is deepening to our north over Nebraska and Colorado. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our local surface winds are south southeasterly.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere… a broad trough.. or line.. of upper level low pressure covers the USA. As a result of this upper air wind pattern, the upper level winds over south central Texas and the Austin metro area about 18,000 feet above the ground are westerly at 25 to 35 mph.

With the surface high pressure now east of our area.. southerly surface winds have returned. This will continue through the remainder of the week into the weekend as another weak cold front settles into the area Friday into Friday night. I expect that we’ll see increased cloud cover.. increased humidity and even some rain chances tomorrow into early Friday and again Saturday into Sunday.

We’ll see a return to more sunshine.. with a partly cloudy sky and warmer temperatures.. for the first half of next week.

Regarding my forecast, my local forecast confidence: My forecast confidence is very high today through tonight. My forecast confidence is medium to high for late week into the weekend (reference the increase in clouds and any rain chances). My forecast confidence rises back to high to very high for the first half of next week.

Have a good Wednesday…
