(1) As the weak stationary front over central and north Texas weakens and washes out, upper level high pressure redevelops over the area today and continues through late week into the weekend and early next week. As a result, there’s no rain in the forecast and afternoon high temperatures will continue to be above seasonal averages.

(2) Although weather will remain quiet, beginning over the weekend and into next week, we need to watch the tropics closely as a tropical system, moving west northwestward from the Caribbean, may enter the Gulf of Mexico.
