AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) A dry and stable weather pattern has taken hold for the IH35 corridor and will continue into and through the weekend with sunshine and warmer temperatures.

(2) A strong cold front will move through the area by daybreak Monday. At this point, a relatively dry and stable air mass in advance of the front will keep rain out of my forecast as the front passes. Following the frontal passage, we’ll see unseasonably cool temperatures and strong northerly winds across our area to start the new week under a clear sky. This pattern will persist into mid week in advance of a another weaker reinforcing cold front due by midday into afternoon on Thursday. This will basically keep the cooler than average dry weather pattern in place late week into next weekend.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance, in their forecast, suggests only marginal rainfall (less than 0.10″) for the IH35 corridor over the next seven days (through Thursday) with temperatures near to slightly above seasonal averages through Sunday then below to well below average for next week.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…

AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) Clouds have been more persistent that I thought they would be; however, a drier and more stable weather pattern will take hold for the IH35 corridor through the remainder of the week into the weekend with sunshine and warmer temperatures returning as clouds decrease west to east today.

(2) A weak cold front will move through the area by late Sunday. A relatively dry and stable air mass in advance of the front will keep rain out of my forecast. Temperatures may cool a degree or so in the wake of the front.

(3) A stronger cold front, again dry in nature, is expected late Tuesday with the coolest temperatures of the new fall season expected for the middle and latter part of next week.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance, in a very high confidence forecast, suggests no rainfall for the IH35 corridor over the next seven days (through Wednesday) with temperatures near to slightly above seasonal averages through Tuesday then below average for next Wednesday.
