AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS
WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT TONIGHT…

… Tropical Cyclone Beta Weakens Over Texas Coastal Plains …
… Rain Chances Continue Today Then Decreases Tonight …

AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) Tropical cyclone Beta has moved ashore of the Texas coastal plains around Victoria and has weakened as it has started, as forecast, to move very slowly northeastward. The system will continue to move slowly northeastward through southeast Texas paralleling the upper Texas coast. Rain chances will continue locally through tonight when the system moves more northeastward into southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana.

(2) A drier and more stable weather pattern will take hold for the IH35 corridor in the wake of Beta by tomorrow and continuing through much of the weekend with sunshine and warmer temperatures returning.

(3) A cold front will move through the area by midday into afternoon on Sunday. A relatively dry and stable air mass in advance of the front will keep rain out of my forecast.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance, in a very high confidence forecast, suggests the potential of less than 0.10″, in general, for the IH35 corridor over the next seven days (through Monday) with temperatures near to slightly below seasonal averages.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
Today through Sunday..
Very High confidence
