Updated 915am CT – Monday / 14 August 2017

.. A More Stable Air Mass with More Sunshine and Warmer Temperatures ..

On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… a weakening stationary front extends southeastward from a surface low over western Kansas into central Oklahoma and the ArkLaTex region to central Mississippi and Alabama. High pressure is located over the Gulf of Mexico and over the four corners region. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds across south central Texas are southerly.

Upper air map… a more zonal (west-to-east) upper level wind pattern continues over the USA with upper level high pressure, acting like a “lid” on the atmosphere, holding over the northwest of Gulf of Mexico across Texas into the southwestern USA. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over south central Texas are light and variable.

What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…

Upper level high pressure continues overhead with plenty of sunshine and slightly above average afternoon high temperatures.

Little change is seen through most of the week and through the coming weekend.

Have a good Monday….
