AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS
WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT TONIGHT…

… A Threat of Lightning with Thunderstorms Today and Tonight …

AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) By later today, a little bit of more northwesterly wind aloft to our north will allow for a weakening surface cold frontal system to move into our area. While the system, in the latest guidance from the NWS/Weather Prediction Center, becomes stationary and weakens overhead or just to our south, short range high resolution guidance suggests scattered rain shower and thunderstorm today into tonight and even into tomorrow in some areas.

(2) We’ll see a stabilization of the atmosphere Saturday night into Sunday with rain chances dropping from the forecast.

(3) I see another potential round of thunderstorms for parts of Texas late Sunday night into Monday with another southeastward moving disturbance as the weakened front to our south washes out.

(4) A drier and more stable weather pattern unfolds again beginning Tuesday and continuing for the middle and latter part of next week.
