AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) A stable summer weather pattern continues today. As this occurs, sunshine and afternoon high temperatures near 100 will continue into tomorrow.

(2) By late tomorrow and tomorrow night into the weekend, a little bit of more northwesterly wind aloft to our north will allow for a weakening surface cold frontal system to backdoor its way into the north central and northeast Texas. While the system, in the latest guidance from the NWS/Weather Prediction Center, becomes stationary and weakens to our north and east, let’s keep an eye on things for an increase in rain shower and thunderstorm chances to our north and northeast that could potentially move south and result in scattered coverage. My confidence has increased a bit regarding these rain chances locally.

(3) In addition, I’m gaining a bit of confidence regarding computer guidance that suggests another potential round of thunderstorms for parts of Texas Monday into Tuesday; at this point, I expect widely scattered to scattered coverage locally.
