AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) An upper low pressure storm system has crossed over south Texas overnight with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly to our south. In the wake of the system, we will find ourselves in a rather benign fall weather pattern beginning today and continuing into Thursday with afternoon high temperatures warming back to above seasonal averages.

(2) Our next weather system will be a strong upper level low pressure disturbance and an associated surface cold front is forecast to approach and then move across Texas beginning Friday and continue Friday night into the early morning hours Saturday. Clouds and rain and thunderstorm chances show up beginning on Friday then peaking Friday night and ending during the early morning hours Saturday. Some stronger thunderstorms with strong winds are possible.

(3) In the wake of the cold front late Friday night into Saturday morning, a cooler, drier and more stable air mass will take over with abundant sunshine and less humid conditions Saturday through Sunday into Monday.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance suggests, on average, 1.00 to 1.50 inch rainfall over the next seven day forecast period.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
A high to very high confidence forecast through Thursday night before falling back to a medium to high confidence forecast for Friday through the weekend.
