AUSTIN / IH35 CORRIDOR
WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT TONIGHT…
No weather hazards expected.

AUSTIN / IH35 CORRIDOR
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …
(1) No doubt about it, a dynamic and changeable weather pattern is set for our IH35 corridor over the next seven day period with several air mass changes expected if only briefly.
(2) Initially, an overrunning pattern, with moisture from the south streaming northward up and over the cooler air at the surface, that moved in following the cold frontal passage late Saturday night, is in place overhead. The front, to our south and southeast, has pulled up stationary but will begin to return northward as a warm front by overnight tonight as an upper level low pressure disturbance, with associated atmospheric lift, approaches from the west. As a result, as the warm front moves northward through our area, scattered to numerous rain showers and thunderstorms will develop late tonight and into tomorrow morning as a south southwesterly surface wind briefly returns before the front returns back southward as a cold front by late tomorrow into tomorrow night.
(3) Precipitation will taper off in the morning on Wednesday with clouds decreasing by Wednesday afternoon into Thursday as colder air once again moves southward into the area.
(4) The front, to our south, will return back northward, as a warm front, by late day Friday with warmer temperatures Friday into the weekend before yet another cold front, ushering in colder air, advances north-to-south through our area by the evening hours on Saturday. Clouds will likely increase by Friday night through Saturday in advance of the cold front although, at this point, I will hold off on any rain chances due to lower forecast confidence.
Based on NWS/Weather Prediction Center guidance, my forecast is for 0.60″
to 0.90″ of rainfall on average for our IH35 corridor counties over the next seven day forecast period.
MY LOCAL FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
A medium to high confidence forecast through Friday then a medium confidence forecast for Friday night through Saturday.
