AUSTIN / IH35 CORRIDOR
MY SEVEN DAY WEATHER THOUGHTS
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …
In the last 24 hours, we have seen a subtle shift in the position of
the upper level high more to our distant west and northwest. Given the
clockwise wind around the upper level high pressure area, we have
seen a weak upper level low pressure disturbance moving southeastward
into areas over the Texas Hill Country. This produced some rain shower
and thunderstorm activity over the Texas Hill Country and Edwards Plateau
west of Austin.
A more stable summer weather pattern will develop today and through the
balance of the week with broad upper level high pressure building back
overhead. The resulting atmospheric “lid” will limit upward motion and
keep our weather dry through Friday.
Once again, the upper level high will settle back northwestward over the
Rockies allowing another disturbance to move southeastward into our area
Saturday into early next week with another slim chance of some rain and
storms for our area.
Please remember, over the coming days, that with slightly elevated to
elevated heat stress and web bulb globe temperature values in the afternoon
into early evening hours, please remain hydrated and don’t “over do it” in
regards to midday, afternoon and early evening outdoor activities.
LOCAL FORECAST CONFIDENCE FOR THIS SEVEN DAY FORECAST PERIOD …
– A high to very high forecast confidence today through next Sunday.
