AUSTIN / IH35 CORRIDOR
WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT TONIGHT…

No weather hazards expected.

AUSTIN / IH35 CORRIDOR
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) As temperatures warm to well above seasonal averages, clouds have increased a bit as an established southerly surface wind flow brings low level moisture northward from the Gulf of Mexico. We could see some patchy fog with the morning low clouds over the next few days and it wouldn’t surprise me if we even see a few sprinkles at a few locations along the Balcones Escarpment. This pattern continues through much of the week and Saturday into Saturday night.

(2) By Friday, a passing upper level disturbance will allow a weakening surface cold front to move southward into the north Texas but the front will mostly likely die out long before reaching our local area.

(3) A second quick moving upper air disturbance will allow a polar cold front to move southward through our area late Saturday night with cooler temperatures to follow for the latter part of the weekend into next week. A secondary cold front will move through the area by early Tuesday morning. Increasingly, guidance suggests that an overrunning pattern – with moisture from the south returning northward and streaming up and over the cooler air at the surface – for Monday into Wednesday with higher rain chances prevailing.

Based partially on NWS/Weather Prediction Center guidance, my forecast is for 0.30″ to 0.50″ of rainfall on average for our IH35 corridor counties over the next seven day forecast period.

MY LOCAL FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
A very high confidence forecast through Saturday then a medium confidence forecast for Saturday night into Sunday and the first half of next week.
