AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) A return south southeasterly surface wind is resulting in warming temperatures and increased humidity for our Friday and into our weekend. Morning low clouds have and may continue to produce some light rain or drizzle and associated trace rainfall amounts over the next few days along the IH35 corridor/Balcones Escarpment.

(2) As a series of weakening cold fronts will move into north and west Texas by Saturday night into Sunday and Monday, we’ll see an increasingly moist and unstable air mass. The fronts themselves, at this point, are not expected to move into our area, However, I am mentioning widely scattered to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms by late Saturday night and Sunday into Monday given the increased instability and low level moisture and possibility that a few storms may work their way in from the north and west.

(3) Another cold front may move deeper into the state late Monday into Monday night but again, it should remain north of our area before weakening and returning northward as a warm front. I will continue a slim rain and thunderstorm chance for this time period.

(4) A stronger cold front will move southward into Texas and perhaps through our local area by Thursday midday with a better chance of rain and thunderstorms.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance is predicting rainfall of 0.25 to 0.50 inch over our area for the next seven day period.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
A high confidence forecast through the 7 day forecast period.
