…. A Stable Air Mass.. with Sunshine.. Expected over the Coming Days ….
…. Near or Slightly Above Average Afternoon Temperatures….

On this Wednesday… surface low pressure extends southward.. with an associated cold front.. from the upper Mississippi valley into western Kansas and Colorado. As a result, a southerly surface wind is blowing across our area.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere, a trough.. or line.. of upper air low pressure is over the northeastern part of the USA with a ridge of upper air high pressure over northern Mexico and southwest Texas. Another trough extends southward from just across the USA/Canada border north of Montana into the intermountain region. As a result of the upper air wind flow, the upper level winds are light northwesterly over our area.

Again today, there is little change in our weather pattern across south central Texas. The weak ridge of upper air high pressure to our west and southwest.. acting like a “lid” on the atmosphere.. is rebuilding over the area and will continue to do so through the end of the week.

In short, skies will continue to be mostly sunny to partly cloudy. With low level moisture present, we’ll continue to see late night and early morning low cloudiness.

There is no mention of rain in my seven day forecast.

For Austin and south central Texas… tonight will be partly cloudy. Lows around 70. Southerly wind. For tomorrow, morning low clouds becoming partly cloudy. Highs around 90 with a southerly wind.
