TK’s Weather Discussion

Updated 845am CST Wednesday / 13 February 2013

A Dry and Stable Weather Pattern…
Another Dry  Cold Front Due Early Friday…
A Slim Chance of Rain with Yet Another Cold Front Next Monday…

On this Wednesday… surface high pressure is situated over Texas with a cold front extending from the Florida panhandle southwestward through the western Gulf. As a result of this pressure pattern, surface winds are northwesterly across our area.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere, a trough of upper air low pressure extends west southwestward from northeastern Arkansas into west Texas and New Mexico. As a result of this upper air wind flow, our upper level winds are moderate to strong westerly.

A dry and stable weather pattern continues across the area for mid into late week and  the weekend. A “reinforcing” cold front will move across the area.. bringing in cooler air and continuing the dry and stable weather pattern.. on Friday morning.

A dry and seasonable weather pattern will prevail.. with slightly below seasonal temperatures.. Friday night into Saturday and Saturday night.

High pressure will move eastward with a return south southeasterly surface wind by Sunday into Monday with the return of late night and early morning low clouds by Sunday night into Monday morning.

Another cold front will move across the area by next Monday evening with widely scattered rain showers and thunderstorms possible.

Have a good Wednesday night and Thursday…
