TK’s Weather Discussion….

Updated 845am CT – Friday / 13 June 2014

…. The Dry and Stable Weather Pattern Returns ….

On this Friday morning…. a south southeastward moving and weakening cold front extends southwestward from around Memphis, TN to just north of Houston then to near Victoria to south of San Antonio to near Eagle Pass and then into northern Mexico. Surface high pressure.. behind the front.. is located over northwest Oklahoma and the Texas panhandle. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our local surface winds are light west northwesterly.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere… the upper level high pressure is over north central and northwest Mexico. As a result of the basic upper air wind pattern, the upper level winds over south central Texas and the Austin metro area about 18,000 feet above the ground, are north northwesterly at 25 to 35 mph.

In the wake of the upper air atmospheric disturbance that created widespread rain shower and thunderstorm last night.. the atmosphere has become more stable once again.

A dry and stable weather pattern continues through the weekend through much of next week with afternoon high temperatures near to slightly above seasonal averages.

Regarding my forecast, my local forecast confidence: My forecast confidence is very high through the weekend and through much of next week.

Have a good Friday…
