AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) Even though it will basically remain in place, the upper level high will indeed relax its hold a little bit over our area over the next few days. Temperatures will come down a few degrees but will still stay above seasonal averages. Although the air mass will become slightly more unstable with some rain showers and thunderstorms to our distant east through southeast and south (mainly east of the IH35 corridor), I am holding off on any rain chances locally until I am more confident of this possibility.

(2) Given the on going drought conditions and the wildfires we’ve seen in recent days,
a reminder that wildfire danger is high.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance is predicting little or no rainfall over our area over the next seven day forecast period.
