AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) An increasingly moist and unstable air mass, in combination with a series of upper level low pressure disturbances to our west and an approaching cold front from the northwest by mid and late week, will result in daily rain shower and thunderstorm chances over the next seven days. Rainfall could be heavy at times with NWS/Weather Prediction Center guidance suggesting an average 2 to 4 inches of rain between now and Sunday with isolated totals to near 6 to 7 inches possible especially east of Austin. In addition, the NWS/Storm Prediction Center expects the possibility of severe thunderstorms for tomorrow into Wednesday with isolated tornadoes, large hail and damaging straight line thunderstorms possible.
