AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) Our atmosphere continues to look quite stable and very summer like. Locally for the IH35 corridor, I am continuing to keep it dry with the typical late summer weather pattern prevailing into the weekend with afternoon high temperatures continuing to be above seasonal averages with highs near or slightly above 100 through tomorrow.

(2) A south southeastward moving cold front pushing into northeast Texas tomorrow into tomorrow night will likely pull up stationary to our northeast. I expect little change locally since the weakening frontal remnants will remain to our northeast.

(3) Another slightly stronger cold front will moves into and through our area from the northwest by Sunday night and off the Texas coast by Monday afternoon. No precipitation is expected with frontal passage while afternoon temperatures behind the front will fall back to being closer to normal for this time of year and overnight lows fall into the 60s (finally!!).

(4) A reminder.. the official beginning of the fall season comes with the Autumnal Equinox tonight at 8:03pm CDT.

(5) Beyond the seven day forecast period, I’ll be monitoring a tropical disturbance, which is forecast to become better developed as it moves westward over the Caribbean Sea. While it too early to say exactly where the system will end up and exactly how strong it’ll be, I am increasingly becoming concerned for potential impacts over the eastern Gulf of Mexico and Florida for the latter part of next week. I’ll keep you informed on this system’s progress.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance is no rainfall over our area for the next seven day forecast period.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
A very high confidence forecast through the 7 day forecast period.
