AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) As a trough, or line, of surface low pressure develops over far west Texas, a slow warming trend continues afternoon highs back to near 90 degrees or above today and then again the weekend.

(2) The NWS/National Hurricane Center (NHC) is issuing advisories on strengthening tropical cyclone Delta, over the southern Gulf of Mexico. This system, based on the official NHC forecast, will stay well to our east over the coming days which will result in the dry stable weather pattern continuing through the Louisiana coast landfall Friday afternoon. To our east, some rain showers in the westernmost rain bands may extend westward into southeast Texas, the eastern parts of the Texas coastal plains and the Brazos Valley when the system makes its closest approach during the period after midnight Thursday night into the afternoon on Friday. Although I am increasing clouds a bit for Thursday night into Friday, at this time, I do not expect any rain as far west as the IH35 corridor.

(3) A dry cold front will move southeastward through the IH35 corridor by midday on Monday with slightly cooler temperatures following into the middle part of next week.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance, for the IH35 corridor over the next seven days, forecasts no precipitation with temperatures near top slightly average overall through Monday.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
Today through Tuesday..
High to Very High confidence
