AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) A developing dynamic low pressure area and cold front over the inter mountain region has resulted in a south southeasterly wind flow continuing with increased cloud cover. As the system gets closer, we’ll see a few sprinkles and rain showers into this afternoon with widely scattered strong thunderstorms beginning by later this afternoon into tonight and then a final bout with widely scattered rain showers and thunderstorms Wednesday as a cold front passes east-to-east through the area. Based on NWS/Storm Prediction Center guidance, a few of the storms may be severe but mainly in areas north of Austin mid afternoon today into tonight.

(2) After the cold front passes tomorrow, skies tomorrow will clear as drier air moves in with somewhat cooler temperatures prevailing for Thursday and Friday in the wake of the front.

(3) A southerly wind returns with increased low level moisture and warming temperatures for the Easter weekend.

(4) A stronger cold front will move through the area by Sunday evening with a few rain showers and thunderstorms possible. Clearing and cooler conditions will prevail in the wake of the front for the first part of next week.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance is predicting less than 0.25 inch over the area over the next seven day period.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
A high to very high confidence forecast through the 7 day forecast period.
