AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) Southerly surface winds will continue with surface high pressure to our east. A weakening cold front has stalled over north Texas well to the north of our Austin / IH35 corridor area. This will continue to result in abundant low level moisture with continued cloud cover along with warmer temperatures into tonight. As we’ve seen over the last 24 hours, even a few sprinkles are possible.

(2) The stronger cold front, that will surge southward through the area by early tomorrow morning, has slowed down a little in its timing. I expect scattered to numerous rain showers and thunderstorm as it approaches and passes through the area. As the front moves off the Texas coast by Saturday midday, an upper level low pressure area is forecast to continue to linger out to our west resulting an a chilly and wet overrunning weather pattern with rain continuing through much of the day tomorrow. Rain chances will decrease a bit tomorrow night into early Sunday before peaking again Sunday night into early Monday as another upper level disturbance passes. Temperatures, in the wake of the front, will fall to well below average for both Saturday and Sunday as well as into early next week.

(4) As a more stable weather pattern takes hold, I expect clouds to break with more sunshine in store for later Monday into mid into late parts of next week. Temperatures will warm a bit as we get back into abundant sunshine.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance is predicting 1.00″ rainfall for our IH35 corridor over the next seven days.
