(1) Atmospheric lift associated with weak southeastward moving upper air disturbances, combined with available low level moisture and instability, will result in widely scattered to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms this afternoon into early tonight mainly in areas north of Austin.
(2) Upper level high pressure, acting like a “lid” on our atmosphere, will strengthen and result in a stable summer weather pattern mid week through the weekend. Afternoon high temperatures will be headed up with afternoon heat stress index readings in excess of 100 degrees. Afternoon high temperatures will be in the 100 to 105 degree range by the weekend into early next week.

Southerly wind 5 to 10 mph with winds strong, variable and gusty around any thunderstorms.
