TK’s Weather Discussion….

Updated 845am CST Thursday / 7 November 2013

…. Plenty of Sun.. Drier and Cooler Weather Late Week into the Weekend ….
…. Clouds Increase by the Weekend into Early Next Week with Southeasterly Wind ….

On this Thursday morning…. a cold front extends southwestward from eastern Kentucky into central Alabama and southeastern Louisiana into the Gulf of Mexico. Cooler and drier surface high pressure.. behind the front.. is over western Oklahoma and over western Colorado. As a result of this surface weather pattern, surface winds are northerly over our area.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere… an eastward moving upper level low pressure trough.. or line of low pressure.. extends southward from Hudson Bay through the central plains and into Texas. As a result, the upper level winds over south central Texas and the Austin metro area about 18,000 feet above the ground are westerly 25 to 35 mph.

As the upper level low pressure trough overhead continues to move slowly eastward, drier and cooler weather with abundant sunshine will prevail through tomorrow and tomorrow night.

Clouds will increase again by the weekend into the early part of next week as south southeasterly surface winds return to the area.

Regarding my forecast, my local forecast confidence: Very high forecast confidence through the next 24 to 36 hours then high confidence Saturday into early into mid parts of next week (regarding slim rain chances which I haven’t included in my forecast yet).

Have a good Thursday…
