AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) An upper level low pressure disturbance is moving out of west Texas as a surface cold front pushes southeastward through Texas. While the front moved across the IH35 corridor earlier this morning, the upper air disturbance will lag behind the front and be slow to depart the area. As a result, numerous rain showers and thunderstorms will continue back in the cooler air overhead through tonight.

(2) As the upper air system departs off to the east, we’ll see decreasing later tonight into tomorrow as drier and more stable air moves into the area.

(3) As the cooler high pressure moves east of the area by the middle and latter part of the week, a return south southeasterly surface wind will result in warming temperatures and increased humidity for the latter part of the week into the upcoming weekend.

(4) As a series of weakening cold fronts will move into Texas by Saturday into Sunday, we’ll see an increasingly moist and unstable air mass. As a result of this, I am mentioning widely scattered rain showers and thunderstorms by Saturday night and Sunday.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance has increased the amounts expected; around 1.00 inch of rain is now expected over our area over the next seven day period.

MY FORECAST CONFIDENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS…
A high to very high confidence forecast through the 7 day forecast period.
