AUSTIN / UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS WEATHER
SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES
AND MY 7 DAY FORECAST CONFIDENCE …

(1) A weakening cold front is washing out just to our northwest as we start the new week. While the front could slide southeastward into parts of the Austin metro area and the IH35 corridor today, it is not expected to make much more southward progress.

(2) Once the front washes out and returns northward as a warm front, a fairly tranquil weather pattern is expected mid into late week with increased low level moisture but a still fairly stable weather pattern.

(3) Another stronger cold front is slated to move across our area by late Friday afternoon into evening hours. Given a more stable atmosphere in advance of the front, I do not expect any precipitation as the front moves through the area. Cooler and drier air will move into the area for Friday night into the first half of the weekend.

(4) After a brief return to a southerly surface wind Sunday and just beyond the seven day forecast period, another cold front is due to move across the area by Sunday night into next Monday. Rain chances look low as we look ahead. Cooler temperatures appear to follow for the first part of next week.

NWS/Weather Prediction Center rainfall guidance, for the IH35 corridor over the next seven days, forecasts little or no precipitation through Sunday.
