Austin / Travis County and South Central Texas Weather Statement #1
Prepared by UT University/Incident Meteorologist Troy Kimmel
335pm CT – Saturday / 01 September 2018
.. I am forwarding this information that NWS/Austin-San Antonio has sent out as
a Twitter post this afternoon…
Given the upcoming Labor Day holiday and shorter work week ahead, I strongly
recommend that all local/Texas interests closely monitor this situationĀ since
it is possible that any system (if it develops) could affect the northern Gulf of Mexico
coastal areas as early as the middle and latter part of the week ahead into next weekend ..
Remember, PLEASE, especially when using social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook) only use sources that you TRUST. Anyone can post in Twitter and Facebook; if you don’t KNOW and TRUST that person or source, then please go to the NWS/National Hurricane Center or NWS/Austin-San Antonio websites for the official information.

“Eyes will turn to the Gulf of Mexico early next week for possible development of a Tropical Cyclone. The ultimate track on where the moisture goes will determine any effects for our area. Follow trustedĀ weather sources this week for the latest updates.”
