.. Tropical Weather Update …
As of morning into midday on this Sunday, the system over the southwest Gulf of Mexico and the northern Bay of Campache has no longer considered a threat. NWS/National Hurricane Center meteorologists are no longer addressing it in their discussions and in their last discussion to do so, earlier this morning, they assigned it a 0% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone over the next few days.
The remnants of the system are forecast to continue westward primarily into Mexico but the system will act to bring a more pronounced tropical air mass onto the Texas coast as the week goes along so we could see isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms over south central Texas.
As a whole, there will be little change in our on going summer weather pattern.
This is my last statement on this system.
