OBSERVATIONS AND MY LATEST THOUGHTS:
At 545am… temperatures have fallen a little quicker than I thought they would have.. with
temperatures falling to near freezing in central and northwestern Travis county including the
Austin metro area. 5am official temps.. 32F Lago Vista.. 32F Georgetown..
33F Austin/City-Camp Mabry.. 33F Austin Bergstrom Intl Airport.. 32F Austin Executive
Airport/East Toll road.. 34F San Marcos. Temperatures may fall another degree or so as we
approach sunrise and then hold steady during the day.

Very light drizzle.. very light freezing drizzle and even some light sleet has and is occurring
over parts of the IH35 corridor counties. With temperatures falling through freezing.. some
very light icing is likely occurring on exposed/elevated objects. Radar indicates slightly heavier
precipitation to our west and south… moving this way.

At 545am.. NWS COOP station AGHT2/Austin Great Hills (Arboretum Area) reported a
temperature of 30.8F with some patchy light icing occurring on some exposed objects. At 429am..
authorities at the CTECC center on Manor Road reported some very light sleet. At 603am.. Austin City (Camp Mabry) reported light rain and 32F.

We need to continue to monitor this weather event carefully… you are all responsible for
keeping up with the latest information in case the temperatures end up colder than expected
and the situation turns worse than expected.. stay weather aware. Listen to local media
reports for the latest information.

More updates forthcoming..
