SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will develop over our area today through the remainder of the week and into the weekend as atmospheric moisture increases a bit as the remnants of the tropical system near Houston lifts north northwestward. There is the possibility of some heavier rain but that threat will be in areas well east of the IH35 corridor toward Bryan/College Station and Houston.

(2) Rain chances decrease a little by late in the weekend as the atmosphere becomes a little more stable. Even so, moisture and instability will linger so there will be widely scattered rain showers and thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon hours.

(3) Afternoon high temperatures, over the next seven days, will continue overall to be above seasonal averages. I do not see any cold frontal passages / change of air masses over the next seven days.
