WEATHER HAZARDS THROUGH 12 MIDNIGHT TONIGHT…

SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) A cold front has moved through the area in the overnight hours; however, the front will pull up stationary over the Texas coastal plains with clouds and rain chances locally increasing today into tonight with unseasonably chilly temperatures.

(2) A stronger upper air low pressure disturbance will move overhead by late tomorrow  with rain and thunderstorms peaking tomorrow into tomorrow night. As the upper air disturbance moves by, a second much stronger cold front will surge through the area late Wednesday.

(3) In the wake of the stronger cold front, clouds and rain chances will clear the area by Thursday midday into the afternoon as much colder temperatures take hold across the area.

(4) Clear skies and/or plenty of sunshine is expected late Thursday through Friday and through the weekend with temperatures continuing well below average.

TODAY…. Cloudy and unseasonably cool with scattered rain showers and a few thunderstorms with an associated lightning threat. Where rainfall occurs, given a 50%chance of rain, it will average 0.25″. Temperatures remaining in the 50s. North northeasterly 5 to 12 mph.

TONIGHT…. Cloudy with numerous rain showers and a few thunderstorms with an associated lightning threat. Where rainfall occurs, given a 70% chance of rain, it will average 0.25″ to 0.50″. Temperatures holding in the 50s. Northeasterly wind 4 to 8 mph.

WEDNESDAY…. Cloudy with rain showers and a few thunderstorms with an associated lightning threat. Where rainfall occurs, given a 90% chance of rain, it will average 0.50 to 1.50″. High 63 with temperatures falling back into the 50s by mid to late afternoon as a cold front passes. Light east southeasterly wind becoming north northwesterly 15 to 25 mph and gusty by mid to late afternoon.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT…. Cloudy, windy and much cooler with rain showers and thunderstorms before midnight with rain chances decreasing rapidly thereafter. Where rainfall occurs, given a 80% chance of rain before midnight, it will average 0.25″ to 0.50″. Low 39. North northwesterly wind 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts.

THURSDAY…. A few clouds early otherwise becoming mostly sunny. Windy and much cooler. High 55. North northwesterly winds 15 to 25 mph and gusty.

THURSDAY NIGHT…. Mostly clear and unseasonably cold. Low 35. Northerly wind decreasing to 5 to 12 mph.
