SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) Clouds and humidity have increased in advance of yet another slow moving low pressure storm system and cold front due to pass overhead beginning later today through tomorrow into the predawn hours Thursday. Rain showers and thunderstorms are expected with an associated lightning risk. Periods of heavier rainfall are possible with storm total rainfall of 1 to 3 inches for the period. There is a “slight” risk of severe weather.. some hail and strong thunderstorm wind gusts will be possible.

(2) As the mid week system passes, a drier and more stable weather pattern, with abundant sunshine, is expected beginning Thursday and continuing through the upcoming weekend and into Monday.

TODAY…. Mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with an associated lightning risk mainly midday through the afternoon. A 30% chance of rain; where rainfall occurs, it will average less than 1/4 inch. High 80. South southeasterly wind 8 to 15 mph with higher gusts.

TONIGHT…. Cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with an associated lightning risk. A 40% chance of rain; where rainfall occurs, it will average 1/4 inch or less. Low 66. Southerly wind 5 to 12 mph.

WEDNESDAY…. Cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms morning into midday then increasing in coverage to numerous rain showers and thunderstorms by afternoon with an associated lightning risk. Periods of heavy rain possible. A 50% chance of rain in the morning increasing to 90%chance of rain by afternoon; where rainfall occurs, it will average 3/4 to 1 1/2 inch. High 75. Easterly wind 8 to 15 mph.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT…. Cloudy with numerous rain showers and thunderstorms with an associated lightning risk as a weak cold front passes. Periods of heavy rain possible. A 90% chance of rain; where rainfall occurs, it will average another 3/4 to 1 1/2 inch. Low 61. Southerly wind shifting west southwesterly 5 to 12 mph after midnight.
