… A Dry and More Stable Weather Pattern Continues …
… No Precipitation Expected Over the Next Seven Days …
On the Weather Map…
On the surface map… a warm front is lifting northeastward from central Missouri into northeast Mississippi into northern Alabama. A trough, or line of low pressure, extends south southwestward from southeastern Colorado into New Mexico. As a result of this surface weather pattern, our surface winds over south central Texas are southerly.
On the upper air map… a northeastward moving upper level low pressure area is over north central Kansas as upper level high pressure, acting like a “lid” on the atmosphere, becomes reestablished over the southwestern.. south central and southeastern USA. As a result of this upper air weather pattern, the 30,000 foot winds over our local area are west southwesterly 15 to 20 mph.
What I am Seeing As I Look Ahead…
As the upper level low to our northwest drifts to the north, upper level high pressure builds over our area resulting in a drier and more stable weather pattern.
With the increased sunshine/less in the way of clouds, afternoon high temperatures will continue to be slightly above seasonal averages.
I do not see any precipitation over the next seven days for the Austin metro area as well as south central Texas.
