…. Drier and Cooler Weather With Lots of Sunshine for our Weekend ….
…. Southerly Surface Winds Return by Late Sunday into Monday Morning ….
…. Increase Humidity and More Clouds and Warmer Temps Next Week ….
On this Friday… a cold front is moving southeastward through Texas. Surface high pressure.. situated over the western USA is settling southeastward into Texas in the wake of the front. As a result of this surface pressure pattern, a northerly surface wind is blowing across our area.
In the upper levels of the atmosphere… a trough.. or line.. of upper air low pressure is located over the central and western USA. As a result of this pressure pattern, the upper air winds are moderate west northwesterly across Texas.
Skies have cleared with drier air and cooler temperatures to prevail through the weekend as high pressure builds in from the north.
The surface high will move eastward with a return to a southerly surface wind by late Sunday into next Monday with low level moisture once again on the increase through the early and middle part of next week. Late night and early morning low clouds are likely across our area.
A weak low pressure disturbance will give us a slim chance of rain for the middle part of next week.
Another cold front will move eastward into Texas by next Thursday and it’ll move through the Austin area by the evening rush hour next Thursday.
My forecast confidence through the weekend is very high and then drops to medium to high for the early and middle part of next week (moisture return and minimal rain chances being the uncertainties).
For Austin and south central Texas… tonight will be clear. Lows in the 40s. For tomorrow, sunshine. Highs in the 60s with northerly winds.
Have a good Friday night and Saturday…
