Rain Chances Decrease in the Wake of Our Morning Cold Front ….
Cooler.. Drier and More Stable Weather Pattern Thursday into the Weekend ….
On this Wednesday morning…. a strong cold front is moving southeastward in east.. coastal areas and south Texas. High pressure is building in over the area in the wake of the front. Given this surface pressure pattern, surface winds are gusty northerly across our area of Texas.
In the upper levels of the atmosphere…. a strong upper level low pressure is western Colorado and northwest Kansas. Given this upper air pattern, winds over south central Texas and the Austin metro area about 18,000 feet above the ground are south southwesterly 50 to 60 mph.
As the upper level low pressure area up north moves eastward, the surface low out west and the attendant surface cold front continues to surge southeastward through Texas. Cooler and drier surface high pressure is settling southeastward into Texas with rain chances and clouds decreasing by later today into tonight.
Sunshine is expected over the remainder of the week with temperatures slowly warming by tomorrow.
As surface high pressure moves eastward by late Friday into Friday night into Saturday.. a south southeasterly wind will redevelop with a slow return in low level moisture over the weekend into early next week.
Have a good Wednesday night and Thursday…
