A Dry and Stable Weather Pattern Continues…
Another Dry Cold Front Late on Monday…
Another Storm System/Cold Front with A Chance of Rain Next Wednesday/Thursday…

On this Friday… surface high pressure is central and southern plains in the wake of a cold front that is moving southeastward through the Texas coastal plains and offshore of the Texas coast. As a result of this pressure pattern, surface winds are northerly across our area in the wake of our early morning cold front.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere, a broad trough of upper air low pressure extends southward from Canada over the eastern 2/3rds of the USA. As a result of this upper air wind flow, our upper level winds are moderate west northwesterly.

A dry and stable weather pattern continues across the area in the wake of a “reinforcing” surface cold front that moved across the area in the morning rush hour this morning. A cooler air mass and a dry and stable weather pattern will continue into the weekend.

High pressure will move eastward with a return south southeasterly surface wind by tomorrow night into Sunday into Monday with the return of late night and early morning low clouds by Sunday night into Monday morning.

Another cold front will move across the area by Monday evening but the latest guidance is now downplaying any mention of rain. Drier air will move into the area in the wake of the front by Monday night into Tuesday.

Another.. perhaps stronger.. cold front will move through Texas by late next Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Longer range guidance makes me think this system will be a little more vigorous and potentially more of a rain maker for Texas. I still think that it may also give parts of north and east Texas and adjoining areas of Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana a threat of severe weather as well.
