Austin / Travis County and South Central Texas Weather Update
Prepared by UT University/Incident Meteorologist Troy Kimmel
855am CT – Thursday / 14 May 2015
Short range high resolution computer guidance suggests scattered rain showers
and isolated thunderstorms will develop today into tonight (with daytime heating)
and again for tomorrow. Remember that dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning will
occur with any thunderstorms that do develop.
…. Looking Ahead ….
On average, based upon NWS/Weather Prediction Center guidance, another one to two
inches of rain is expected locally from 7am today through 7am next Thursday.
Rain chances look to be their highest late Saturday through next Monday
into Tuesday as upper air disturbances combine with an approaching cold front.
In closing, the wet weather pattern overall may continue through much of next
week and the following weekend.
