… My latest observations and thoughts …
At 11am CT, temperatures in Travis, Williamson and Hays counties are in the
middle 30s.

The threat for ice for the IH35 corridor counties has ended.

… Event Verification/Reports …
While there were reports of icing in parts of Burnet and Blanco counties to our west over
the Texas hill country, I have not seen any reports of  icing in the IH35 corridor counties
of Travis, Williamson or Hays, as of this time, with this weather event. However, isolated
patches of ice, as forecast, seemed possible earlier this morning in the western third of those
counties given the precipitation and freezing/subfreezing morning low temperatures as
mentioned above. Remember, too, it’s New Years Day and early morning real time reports
are hard to come by.. especially in more rural areas.

This is my final statement in regard to this event.

Happy New Years everyone,
