Austin / Travis County and South Central Texas Weather Update #18
Prepared by UT University/Incident Meteorologist Troy Kimmel

…. A Quiet Night Ahead? ….
After 1 to 2 inch rainfall totals today.. although a moist and unstable atmosphere
remains in place, it looks like a quiet night ahead for south central Texas. Short
range high resolution computer guidance suggests little precipitation for the
overnight hours and then scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms
developing with daytime heat tomorrow.
…. Looking Ahead ….
On average, based upon NWS/Weather Prediction Center guidance, another two
inches of rain is expected locally from 7pm tonight through 7pm next Wednesday
night. Rain chances look to be their highest late Saturday through next Monday
into Tuesday as upper air disturbances combine with an approaching cold front.
In closing, the wet weather pattern overall may continue through much of next
week and the following weekend.
