… My Temperature Forecast from Overnight for the Metro Area Didn’t Verify …
Although winds calmed down nicely overnight, some high level clouds at and above 20,000 feet
AGL apparently had some effect, in combination with an overnight rise in the dew points, on the
overnight lows. This was especially true in the Austin metro area with temperatures as much as
5 to 10 degrees warmer than I expected they would be in the 7am hour this morning.
A climate note:
Local low temperature records for today.. both Bergstrom and Mabry (27 degrees back on
this date in 1959).. remain intact.
This is my last statement on this arctic cold outbreak..
