Austin / Travis County and South Central Texas Weather Update #13
Prepared by UT University/Incident Meteorologist Troy Kimmel
750pm CT – Friday / 17 April 2015
At 750pm.. via NWS Doppler weather radar.. I am monitoring a short band of
thunderstorms from east of Jarrell to just west of Georgetown to northeast of
Leander in Williamson County. While the thunderstorms are not severe.. Doppler
radar estimates in the area, over the last hour, have increased to in excess of
1 1/2 inches with the activity moving east northeastward very slowly. Be aware
of some localized flooding.. especially of low water crossings and also urban
flooding in these areas.
There is also a broken line of developing rain showers extending southward
from east of Leander to Lake Travis and Oak Hill. This line is also moving
slowly east northeastward.
Continuing to monitor.. tk
