SEVEN DAY WEATHER HEADLINES…

(1) By later this afternoon into tonight, a strong cold front will move through the area with scattered to numerous rain showers and thunderstorms ahead of, along and even behind the front. Behind the front, I expect unseasonably chilly weather overnight tonight and Friday into the weekend. Upwards of 1 to 2 inches of rain can be expected, on average, as this weather system passes.

(2) Plenty of sunshine is expected Saturday and Sunday into early next week as temperatures slowly warm ahead of another stronger cold front late Tuesday into Wednesday.

TODAY…. Mostly cloudy. Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms after 1pm with an associated lightning threat.  Where rainfall occurs, given a 50% chance of rain, it will average .25″ or less. High 83. Southerly wind increasing to 8 to 15 mph.

TONIGHT…. Cloudy and turning breezy and cooler with rain showers and thunderstorms likely with an associated lightning threat as a cold front passes after 7pm. Where rainfall occurs, given a 80% chance of rain, it will average 1.25″ to 1.50″. Turning cooler. Low 48. South southwesterly wind shifting northerly 10 to 20 mph and gusty.

FRIDAY…. Cloudy and breezy. Much cooler with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with an associated lightning threat before 3pm. Where rainfall occurs, given a 80% chance of rain, it will average .25 to .50″. Slowly decreasing clouds becoming partly cloudy by late afternoon. High 60. Northerly wind 10 to 20 mph.
